Job summary
Advertising Finance is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to be help build an innovative automotive-shopping experiences for our customers. This role will be supporting the launch of an exciting new shopping experience on Amazon.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and demonstrate advanced problem solving, analysis, modeling and reporting skills. This role also needs an automation mindset and skills to create, automate and maintain dashboards. You will own the design, development, and maintenance of key metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc., you will be required to design and influence operational best practices for reporting and analytics to enable the solutions to scale. You will be passionate about analyzing large data sets, leveraging multiple sources, and exploring new analytical tools to answer complex business questions. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and with an ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and ever-changing environment.
This role requires an individual with excellent business, communication, and technical skills, enabling collaboration with various functions, including product managers, software engineers, data scientists as well as senior leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive the design, development, and maintenance of innovative and scalable data products across the organization, with the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
- Translate ambiguous business problem statements into actionable analytical products. Manage large scale data requests and projects to define requirements, manage timelines, and coordinate activities with other involved team members.
- Help with defining performance metrics, KPIs, and other business success measures and drive the set up and creation of related scorecards and/or dashboard reporting.
- Partner with manager and product managers to translate business insights and trends into experimentation and testing, and modeling.
- Partner with scientists to translate business insights and trends into experimentation and testing, and modeling.
- Assist with compilation of benchmark data to defend forecast assumptions, and help with data insights to understand results (versus budget and prior periods)
- Identify and drive automation and process improvement opportunities with respect to data inputs and outputs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/MS in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Operations Research, Machine Learning, Data Science etc.
- BS with 5 years of relevant experience or MS with 3 years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis including descriptive and inferential analysis
- Proficient in knowledge of relational database (SQL)
- Proficiency with quantitative analysis, databases, automation, and process improvements
- Proven expertise at automation of data pipelines and creating/maintaining dashboards
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Advanced MS Excel skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience with dashboarding tools
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
- Experience with statistical analyses
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Data Modeling
