The Global Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering (C-RME) team is looking for passionate individuals who love to design and maximize customer satisfaction for world-class customer-facing interfaces. You are a talented UX Designer who knows how to design user interfaces, know how to get things done, and done really well, you like making customers' lives better and want to be part of a team that builds "from scratch" a new technology platform for RME technicians, planners, and managers.
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative problem solver to join as a UX Designer who will work with a team of talented product managers and software engineers to deliver best-in-class customer experiences. We need a highly motivated, creative and passionate UX Designer to be a part of our team as we drive innovative, customer-focused UI solutions across all devices for Amazon’s internal and external customers around the globe.
As a UX Designer on the team, you should be at ease creating scenarios, sketches, story boards, wire-frames, and prototypes. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to visualize an experience in the abstract, break down complex use-cases and then be able to drive the vision into solid design deliverables. You think first from the customer’s perspective, use research and data to influence your designs, set relentlessly high standards for yourself and deliver best-in-class customer experiences. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Key job responsibilities
- Use business requirements, usability findings and market research to develop scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
- Design conceptual wire-frames, high-fidelity mock-ups, information architecture diagrams, interaction specifications, and functional prototypes
- Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency
- Translate abstract concepts into simple and elegant user interfaces
- Present design work to the product team for review and feedback
- Quickly iterate on multiple design explorations to arrive at a simple but robust solution accounting for complex requirements
- Proactively manage your own work queue, time and expectations, meet deadlines and communicate needs and trade-offs if your schedule is in jeopardy
- Manage ambiguity, work independently and collaboratively within a team, and switch rapidly between different projects in an agile environment
- Understand target user through user research and drive toward more collecting more data when needed.

Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of design experience
- 3 years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
- Experience working with design systems
- 2 years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
