Who are we?

At Ambassador Foods, we don’t just sell—we innovate. With 40 years of industry leadership and insight, and a relentless passion for exceptional food, we combine deep-rooted expertise with the agility of a modern brand. We’re a team of high-performers where culture isn't just a buzzword; it’s our foundation for growth. Here, you’ll find the mentorship of a legacy company and the excitement of a brand on the move:

  • The Power of Proximity: We value the power of the handshake and genuine connections. While we embrace remote flexibility, you’ll own your territory through meaningful in-person interactions, building the kind of trust and rapport that digital-only competitors simply can’t match.
  • Consultative Partnership: You aren't just a vendor; you’re a strategic advisor. Leveraging our expansive food product portfolio, you’ll solve complex client challenges with tailored solutions that drive their success—and your commission.
  • Market Intelligence & Mastery: We don't just follow food trends; we capitalize on them. You’ll be empowered with deep industry insights and competitor intelligence to deliver high-stakes presentations and close deals with confidence.

The role:

In an industry increasingly crowded by automated, digital-only interactions, Ambassador Foods wins by being high-tech and high-touch. We leverage modern insights and industry data to identify opportunities, but we believe the final mile of business is best traveled in person. As a Business Development Manager and the face of Ambassador Foods across Central and Northern Florida, you’ll use our portfolio of resources to forge high-value partnerships with restaurants, distributors, and retailers across Florida.

  • Strategic Growth: Cultivate a robust pipeline of new accounts while expanding existing relationships, driving market share within the Florida food scene.
  • Territory Expansion: Serve as the spearhead for our Central Florida expansion, identifying and capturing untapped opportunities in new markets.
  • Hybrid Prospecting: Master a "high-touch" outreach strategy, blending modern digital prospecting (LinkedIn, email, CRM) with the high impact of in-person networking.
  • Consultative Selling: Deploy influential negotiation skills, effectively communicating our unique value proposition, turning prospects into long-term partners.
  • Performance Excellence: Meet and exceed clear growth benchmarks, specifically securing a minimum of one major and two minor strategic accounts per quarter.

Who you are:

  • Industry-Savvy: You have a consultative approach to the foodservice industry, including restaurant and DSD retail, while keeping your finger on the pulse of the Florida food scene and staying ahead of culinary trends and competitor moves to keep Ambassador Foods at the forefront.
  • A Relationship Architect: You have a natural ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term trust with diverse stakeholders, from chefs to corporate buyers. You know how to use that connection to identify untapped sales opportunities and qualify leads, ensuring your time is spent on high-value partnerships.
  • A Self-Starter: You thrive in a remote environment. You have the discipline to manage a large territory (Central & Northern FL) and the drive to hunt for new business autonomously.
  • Digitally Fluent: You are a modern seller who embraces technology. You’re comfortable using CRMs to track your pipeline and data to inform your territory strategy.
  • Growth-Oriented: You possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a hunger to win, paired with a genuine desire to learn and grow as an integral part of a collaborative team.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Qualifications:

  • B2B Expertise: Proven outside sales experience in a B2B environment, specifically within the food industry.
  • Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with the Central and Northern Florida markets and a willingness to travel within the territory weekly for in-person client engagement.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate a unique value proposition to diverse audiences.
  • Tech Stack: Proficiency with CRM software and modern prospecting tools.

Compensation and benefits:

  • $60,000 base salary with an additional guaranteed $25K over the first 6 months, plus 1.25% commission on total revenue generated (unlimited potential)
  • Car and cell phone allowance
  • Health, Dental and Vision insurance
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Account (DCA)
  • PTO
  • Simple IRA with 3% company match
