About The Role
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students in grades K–12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a resource room and/or inclusion setting.
- Support students with disabilities through specialized instruction and services.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to ensure student success.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
- Valid NC teaching certificate with EC General Curriculum (K–12) license (required).
- Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- Caseload: Approximately 23 students
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:50 PM
- Hours: 37.5 per week
- Contract Length: Through May 22, 2026
- Start Date: As soon as possible (allow 2–3 weeks post-offer)
