Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid position located in Washington, DC, with some remote work allowed. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting with audits, and supporting budget preparation processes. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies and collaborating with various teams to maintain financial transparency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Advanced skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Critical thinking, analytical abilities, and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is an asset
