Marine Recruiter
The Marine Recruiter’s goal is to find the best Maritime Talent and persuade them to join the world’s leading small ship cruise line, American Cruise Lines. The ideal Marine Recruiter is highly-motivated, has working knowledge of the maritime industry and Coast Guard licensing, works well under pressure and thrives on meeting deadlines while delivering qualified candidates to the Director of Marine Operations. This position is based out of our Guilford, CT office, must be able to work in-person.
Responsibilities
You’ll prepare compelling job descriptions and recruiting campaigns for maritime positions, leveraging technology to optimize results from job boards and social media to engage active and passive job seekers and encourage them to join our award winning team. This position works closely with senior management to develop recruiting strategies to further the Company’s growth strategy.
- Develop and implement full cycle recruiting campaigns for Captains, Mates, Deckhands, and other Maritime Positions
- Utilize and maintain information in Applicant Tracking System (Paycor)
- Leverage online recruiting techniques and tools
- Write compelling job postings to attract top quality talent
- Recruit, pre-screen, schedule interviews, interview and make hiring recommendations
- Verify Coast Guard licenses
- Attend Maritime Academy career fairs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, plus 5 years of relevant experience
- Maritime experience is required
- US Coast Guard License strongly preferred
- Engaging and persuasive personality
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Understand the use of search algorithms, organic search results, adwords and pay per click advertising
- Familiarity with maritime employment laws, policies and trends
- Experience with high volume recruiting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency
- Pre-employment drug test
- Ability to travel 25% of the time to various Career Fairs, Maritime Academies, and American Cruise Lines Vessels
