M - F 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM or 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM or 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM
Leads, facilitates, and oversees the work activities of team leaders, technicians and production employees. Supports the operational leadership team in the safe execution of daily activities, meeting production targets, organizing labor and coaching employees. Assists in creating and promoting a positive and cohesive team environment, always leading as a positive example in terms of attendance, flexibility, and strong work commitment. This is a “leadership” role requiring the employee to spend a minimum of 50% of their hours on the shop floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide manufacturing leadership to fully engage employees and foster a productive work environment.
· Creates a strong safety culture believing that all injuries are preventable while investigating any incident, near miss or injury.
- Oversees the efficient utilization of materials, supplies, and labor to meet all manufacturing requirements and production schedules.
- Measures shift Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for safety, quality, attendance, productivity and training.
· Work cooperatively with production and maintenance teams to identify and resolve production issues in an efficient manner and assist in the resolution of quality / production problems. Identify and eliminate root causes of problems and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
- Creates and improves Standard Work Instructions for production, setup and operator-based maintenance.
- Participates in document creation of Job Hazard Analysis, Control Plans and Production Standards
- Owns the training plan and execution of all assigned employees in all operational areas: Machine Operation, Set-Up, Safety, Quality, Preventative Maintenance, etc.
- Enters production or inventory transaction reports, while reviewing information for accuracy
- Provides technical expertise and coaching to department employees to resolve issues, overcome obstacles, and improve performance.
- Maintains clean and safe work areas by actively enforcing 5S programs for all areas and employees to whom they are assigned.
- Administers all policy and safety guidelines within assigned departments.
- Plan and manage shift meeting to communicate information to oncoming team leaders and supervisors daily
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machinery and manufacturing processes and procedures: Safety, Quality, Efficiency, etc.
- Proven experience in leading training of operators in a manufacturing setting
- History of challenging the status quo and driving results to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, employee performance, and/or operator safety.
- Basic knowledge of Lean and other Continuous Improvement programs
- Ability to recognize and solve moderate to complex problems independently.
- Good computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite products
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in manufacturing
· 2-3 years of leadership/management experience is preferred
· Lean or 6 Sigma certification is preferred
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders and/or equipment.
- Maximum unassisted lift – 50 lbs. Average lift less than 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and requires hearing protection.
· Safety shoes and eye protection are also required.
Temperature environment 0 degrees to 110 degrees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
