We have an immediate opening for a Route Buyer/Field Rep for our Atlanta, Georgia location. Phoenix Group Metals is a division of American Iron & Metal and through our experience we have refined the lab analytics of the processing of catalytic converters and full assaying of the precious metals contained within.

We house the most sophisticated shredding, metals collections technology and advanced technology in the metals business. Leading the way in converter processing, our wholesale field buying, lab assay services, and catalytic converter identification, analytics software are real-time. We offer transparency at Phoenix Group Metals, the division of AIM, and strive to develop long-term customer relationships.  We provide the best available true market value on current metals pricing and converters wholesale, assay, de-canned honeycomb.

 

Job Description

We are seeking Field Buyers to, with a desire to grow, maintain and retain client accounts. If you are an ambitious self-starter who thrives on building connections, we want to hear from you. You will be at the forefront of our growth strategy. This position is working primarily outdoors, running your independently scheduled route, purchasing end-of-life catalytic converters.

Your responsibilities will include educating and selling our services to both new and existing clients, achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets, resolving client issues, and cultivating a network of long-term customer relationships. We offer a base salary range between $40k-$60k annually. The ideal candidate will be driven and apply a detail-oriented approach to their work. A self-starter mentality with the ability to take initiative.

What you're responsible for: 

  • Service and maintain existing accounts within Georgia.
  • Internal and external customer service relating to your purchases and customer-base.
  • Coordinate your catalytic converter buys with salvage yard Managers, Owners, Independent Buyers, and Brokers.
  • Establish a route to visit customers on a regular basis and submit daily attainment logs. 
  • Prospect, establish and develop new customers for your territory growth and increased unit attainment.
  • Perform onsite audits and adhere to control processes for inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in order to purchase materials in compliance.
  • Responsible for the automotive material moving in and out of the facility to include, inventory weigh-ins, scale usage, fork lift operation.
  • If assigned a company vehicle, you would need to ensure its maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Physical labor is necessary in this role to load your truck at customer buys and communicate effectively to unload your material when back at your facility.

 

Qualifications

  • Some overnight company paid travel required during the week.
  • Math skills are needed to calculate your customer invoices.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years (21 age required for potential company provided vehicle)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record & background check
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays potentially out of state
  • Must pass initial and any & all random drug screenings prior to and during employment.
  • Capability to stand, bend and lift and throw items weighing 2-30 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Strong Verbal communication skills
  • Attend & communicate in team meetings your proven, effective strategies
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Knowledge of Automotive parts or salvage a plus
  • Previous map-point or Route planning experience a plus
  • Previous Prospecting/Cold calling experience
  • Money handling experience
  • Prior field scanning and printing technology
  • Forklift experience
  • Bilingual a plus
