SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Lead the Material Handler is responsible for the distribution of materials such as frames, leather, fabric, components, mechanisms, foam, and other materials.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transacts the physical product from one area to another via kitting and/or direct floor requests
- Matching materials with Traveler (product description sheet)
- Ensures that work and work area comply with the 5S program
- Ensures workstations are filled up with work
- Keep WIP areas filled up and material flowing throughout their respective area of responsibility
- Inform Supervisors and Leads when WIP areas are below or above expected levels of material, components or WIP
- Scan Job Completions
- Scan Labor
- Pick up completed jobs and place them in queue area
- Match covers and frames for upholstery
- Update day-by-hour production boards
- Help expediting reworks
- Replenish working stations with raw materials and supplies
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate them to Supervisor
- Implement and follow up projects for Continuous Improvement
- Audits
- Use computer systems like 4D and/or Oracle as needed
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
- Follow up with reworks sent to other departments
- Fill up and send requisitions of department consumables
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to interact collaboratively with others
- Ability to lift 25 to 50lbs
- Ability to work in a production environment climate and non-climate controlled.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to communicate in English
