Responsibilities for Network / Data Engineer
- Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation.
- Defines, documents, and enforces system standards.
- Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
- Configures router.
- Updates data servers and network equipment.
- Collaborates with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Analyzes and corrects all technical problems on equipment within assigned customer accounts.
- Designs, implements, and operates on data center network, customer connections, and network security architecture.
- Gathers and documents requirements for design, code, integrate, test, and implement commercial and customer automated systems.
- Performs packet capture and analysis to baseline network performance and / or troubleshoot performance issues.
- Responsible for critical response for all related areas.
- Must have the clear ability to translate business requirements into credible, high quality, and resilient designs based upon the firm’s roadmaps and standards.
- Conducts technology assessments.
- Plays a key role in project delivery lifecycle management focusing on creating Detailed Implementation Plans for all design, Test and Accept criteria, Back-Out and Validation plans and procedures.
- Supports initiatives as they transition between design, implementation, and operations.
- Performs Q / A function prior to every implementation project.
- May take part in service and business management activities related to budgeting, RFI / RFP, service planning.
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience using (both reactive and productive) advanced tooling.
- Application experience with an innovation “mind-set” and how it impacts how engineering work gets done is important.
Qualifications for Network Engineer
Ability to work nights and weekends during designated time periods.Hands-on experience with multiple network-computing hardware components including routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers.Working knowledge of network routing protocols.Experience with desktop operating systems and server environments desirable.Experience with FireMon application implementation technology is a plus.Education Requirements :
