Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall management of the plants manufacturing of products within the TX facility. Must effectively plan, organize, direct, and control the manufacture of products of the TX business segment. Assures plant operational compliance with USDA, environmental, and safety regulations. Leads and Manages the Production Team, both salary and hourly employees. Responsible for Product Safety and Quality, Employee Safety, and Legality of Policies and Procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Decision Making & Problem Solving: Responsible for solutions to customer complaints. Responsible for adherence to product and customer specifications
  2. Production Support: Strategizes in offering the best leadership and support to engage, collaborate and understand priorities to meet external and internal customer needs
  3. Project Management: Sets project goals and direction. Accountable to deliver key performance indicators (labor shrink, packaging costs, yield, turnover, outputs) to budgeted standards
  4. Management/Supervision: Supervises and provides leadership, including effectively managing others in their daily activities. Motivates and engages staff and creates a climate in which people want to do their best. Attracts and retains talent
  5. Product and Process Development: Responsible for continued assessment of cost reduction opportunities through the utilization of resources to remove process costs, improve efficiencies and develop creative staffing strategies
  6. Good Manufacturing Practices: Responsible for GMP, HACCP, FSIS-USDA regulations into Company and product-specific practices
  7. Technical Documentation/Communication/Processes: Ensures product, process, and project documentation is complete, accurate, and sufficient to allow development and production team members to understand critical requirements. Responsible for accurate and timely production reporting
  8. Safety: Implements and enforces Company safety policies and procedures.Responsible for the safe operation of the entire process.
  9. Training & Development: Ensures adequate staff training and documentation thereof, in line with Company policies and procedures.
  10. Quality System Compliance: Ensures the Companys production group fulfills the Quality System, the Quality System Regulation (US FDA), and other relevant standards.
  11. Other Compliance: Works to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, Labor & Employment Law, and other federal, state, and local regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out, confined space, and personal protection regulations.

Job Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Certifications, Skills):

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or related discipline. Preferably 8-10 years' experience leading Production Operations in USDA manufacturing plants with a minimum of five (5) plus years at the management level. Experience in managing projects, determining, and allocating resources, and organizing work. A hands-on, assertive leader not afraid to introduce change. Proficient in process control, cost management, and cost containment strategies. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. LEAN Manufacturing experience preferred. Believes in results-oriented performance and analysis and instills these ideals across all personnel and functional responsibility. BRC Certification exposure & Proficient in Spanish a huge plus.
