What do we do?
Our clinical multidisciplinary approach to care delivers the correct intervention to each and every patient, each and every time through various pain management procedures including injections, open surgical cases with general anesthesia, physical therapy, and psychological services. Our Providers focus on helping individuals improve functionality to restore a more meaningful lifestyle.
Behind the scenes are APC’s support departments which include areas like Operations Support, Pre-Service, Billing, Human Resources, Marketing, and Accounting. APC is seeking an individual who is eager to learn, develop, and grow in a role in the Billing Department located in the Support Office in Carmel, IN.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for answering inbound AR related phone calls, follow up on claim rejections and denials, identifying billing issues, communicating with insurance companies for status on outstanding claims, processing and following up on appeals and resolving insurance correspondence issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
- Review, analyze, and appeal payer denials
- Unpaid claims follow up every 30 days or less
- Unpaid claims Queue follow-up daily
- Contact payers or third-party payers for claim status
- Denial trend tracking and communication with management and team
- Properly document denials and appeals in tracking log
- Processes requests for information from payers
- Review account credits for posting accuracy and initiate insurance refunds
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (What We Are Looking For)

Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ Experience REQUIRED understanding CPT and ICD10 Coding, medical policy research, working Aged AR claim follow-up, claim rejections, electronic claim, and filing appeals with health insurance companies or other third parties to obtain claim payment.
