What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender & Server position at American Sardine Bar?
Way back when Point Breeze was just another forgotten neighborhood moniker, we opened a chalkboard menu-driven, beer focused, dive-y but kinda-nice joint -- American Sardine Bar -- and everyone thought we were crazy. Perhaps we were.
Fast forward 13 years, and ASB is the place to be if you enjoy soakin' up suave vibes, sippin' on a killer cocktail, explorin' the world of natural wine, and enjoyin' some of the most creative plates around. We’ve come a long way, baby. And while we may not exude the former grit of our misspent youth, we assure you ASB is the same diamond in the rough – just a bit more polished and grown up.
We are actively seeking to expand our team for the busy autumn season and looking to fill a Bartender & Server position. This advertisement is specifically for an individual with experience in a true bartender role. You must have working knowledge of craft beer and demonstrated execution of classic cocktails. Please note that at American Sardine Bar we work as a team, and 'bartenders' are also expected to work shifts on the floor in 'server' sections/roles. We need mostly nighttime hours, but maybe a little daytime too? Let's say... 3-4 shifts/week.
American Sardine Bar is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All new hires will will undergo a minimum 5-day training period after which they will function under a 60-day probationary work period. Successful completion of training is dependent on performance approval of the restaurant’s management team and training staff. Worth noting: ASB Bartenders, Servers and Support Staff work within a pooled tip system -- teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Interested applicants should submit a PDF -- repeat: a PDF -- copy of your resume. We look forward to meeting all you future fishes!
