Job Summary
American Sports Surfaces is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler to coordinate and maintain project schedules for court construction projects. This role is critical to keeping crews, materials, subcontractors, and customers aligned so projects are completed efficiently, safely, and on time.
The Scheduler works closely with project managers, subcontractors, superintendents, foremen, vendors, and clients to plan work, adjust schedules as conditions change, and communicate updates clearly across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project schedules for multiple active construction projects
- Assist VP on coordination of daily and weekly crew schedules, including labor, equipment, and site access
- Schedule subcontractors and specialty trades as needed
- Align material deliveries with project timelines and site readiness
- Communicate schedule changes to project managers, field crews, and office staff
- Track weather delays, site conditions, and other impacts to schedules
- Assist project managers with look-ahead planning and workload forecasting
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and project calendars
- Support customer communication by providing realistic timelines and updates
- Identify scheduling conflicts and proactively propose solutions
- Enter new clients into QuickBooks Desktop
- Book hotels for crews while working out-of-town
- Review weekly timesheet reports for crews
Qualifications
- Experience in construction scheduling, dispatching, or project coordination (preferred)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and project management software (Contractor Foreman & QuickBooks Desktop)
- Understanding of construction workflows and jobsite operations
- Ability to work collaboratively with field crews and management
Preferred Experience
- Experience in sports court construction, paving, concrete, or specialty construction
- Familiarity with weather-dependent scheduling
- Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and deliveries
