What are the responsibilities and job description for the City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program position at AmeriCorps?
The City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program is seeking AmeriCorps applicants to be Academic Enrichment Specialists that will serve local Safekey locations based at an elementary school within the City of Henderson during the school year. The program will take place Monday-Friday in afternoons between 3:00pm-6:00pm aligned with the school calendars. During the summer, Academic Enrichment Specialists will serve at Battle Born Kids Summer Camp at various Parks and Recreation venues. Programming includes homework help, mentoring, social emotional skill-building, and engaging STEM and Literacy activities at each site in multipurpose rooms and outdoor spaces. Training on health and safety, behavior management, parent engagement, social-emotional learning, and engaging program content will be provided. The City of Henderson AmeriCorps Program has 20 positions (900 hr, 675 hr, & 450 hr terms) currently open. **This description will not be updated as positions are filled, please email the program contact for more information on available slots.** Benefits: Living Allowance & Segal Education Award offered for successful completion of the term of service. The above functions may be completed with or without reasonable accommodations.
