What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Infant, Toddler, Preschool Assistant Teacher Aide position at Ames Community Preschool Center (ACPC)?
$500 SIGN ON BONUS
Staff would need to be available to work from May 13-August 22, 2024.
You will get $250 on the June 6th paycheck and $250 on the August 22 paycheck. If for any reason that you leave ACPC before the end of summer (August 22), you will forfeit the second half of the bonus.
Support full-time and part time staff in Ames Community Preschool Center’s (ACPC) classrooms and school-age sites. Teacher Aides directly support staff in the successful implementation of programming, and supervision of children throughout the day.
Work with full time staff in planning and executing classroom goals and activities.
Carry out group activities as requested by the full-time staff.
Take initiative to be responsible for routine activities.
Provide appropriate positive guidance to children according to ACPC guidelines.
Be engaged and assist in the supervision of children always.
Collaborate to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children at ACPC.
Be continuously engaged with children during play.
Maintain open lines of communication with families related to services, policies and procedural changes.
Maintain neat and orderly classrooms and common storage areas.
Supervise and eat with children at meal times. Follow USDA food regulations
Attend staff in-service meetings as needed.
Help maintain records as assigned.
Supervise children while napping, at rest times, and other periods.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of diverse families, addressing concerns as needed.
Provide a high level of qualified service to existing families.
Report any suspicions of child abuse to the HOT LINE and to the director.
Job Skills and Requirements:
Be at least 16 years old.
Be able to pass the required physical exam for employees in childcare.
Pass the Criminal Records Check (SING and Fingerprints).
Complete required Trainings - Universal Precautions, Mandatory Reporters, Essentials, Passport, First Aid & CPR within a specified amount of time upon hire.
Be competent to work independently, without direct supervisor as needed.
