AMP is hiring a Software Engineer - Cloud reporting to Engineering Manager, Machine Learning on a remote basis.

Extracting value from waste doesn't end at the automated facility - AMP's cloud platform supports both our facility operations with pipeline analytics and custom tooling, and develops the neural networks driving our robotic sorting with an AI data engine. In this role, you'll help build and improve our cloud platform, especially the infrastructure and tooling supporting our AI development. You'll work closely with our ML, Data Operations, Data Platform, and Operations teams to deliver cloud-based tools that improve our AI and our operation as a whole.

As a Software Engineer - Cloud, you will work to:

  • Contribute to the design and development of cloud infrastructure and data pipelines to support facility operations and analytics
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and development efforts to support our AI lifecycle and ML platform.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • 5 years of professional experience in software engineering
  • 2-4 years experience writing production-level code in Python
  • 2 years experience writing production-level code in a modern frontend Javascript framework
  • 2 years experience working with SQL databases
  • 2 years experience in container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD development (Gitlab CI preferred)
  • 2-4 years cloud development experience, preferably in GCP
  • 2 years experience designing and operating production software
  • 2 years experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ex. Terraform)
  • Experience with full-stack web development frameworks (e.g. Flask, FastAPI, React, Angular)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of professional software engineering practices; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, project management, testing, and operations.
  • Ability to work on a small team and work independently.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle
  • A startup mentality and a passion for recycling, robotics, and changing the world

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.

Working Location(s):

  • Fully-remote, hybrid, or in-person at AMP's Louisville, CO Headquarters. Occasional travel to HQ

Travel Requirements:

  • Periodic travel to HQ and onsite facilities for key meetings and collaborative sessions

Salary & Compensation Information: $130,000 - $152,000 per year

Equity Grant: The candidate selected for this role will be recommended for a stock option grant commensurate with the position and the candidate's qualifications.
