What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Ampersand Coffee Roasters?
We are searching for a part time barista to work 2-4 shifts a week and must have Thursday availability. We are also looking for someone who can work the days around Christmas, as we are not open Christmas Day. Want to bring your barista skills to a small coffee shop with a relaxed environment where your personality can shine?
Ampersand serves 100% Organic, 100% Fair Trade coffee and has women's empowerment as its mission from farm to cafe. We purchase approximately 75% of our coffee from women farmers, partner with growers' collectives like Cafe Femenino, and donate 0.5% of our revenue to the International Women's Coffee Alliance each year.
Our first priority in the cafe is providing a specialty coffee experience for all our customers, which means hiring and training a team of friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable Baristas with or without prior experience. Our Baristas prepare and serve hot and cold coffee and tea, including both traditional espresso drinks and sweet fan-favorites.
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable with customer service, experienced with a manual espresso machine, and eager to contribute to the small but growing coffee community we're building here in Gunbarrel. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes hourly wages and tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.
