The DSP provides around-the-clock training, support, and supervision of clients in a multitude of settings including but not limited to home, day programming, work, and recreation. Staff in the homes teach a variety of skills related to day-to-day living such as home management, hygiene, leisure, and community living skills. All services are provided at the highest standard of professional practice, complying with standards by both federal and state regulations and facility policies.

- Work a 3-week rotational schedule with mandatory overtime OR a 1-week rotating schedule
- Orientation lasts 2 weeks from 7:30/8a - 5p and begins November 7th

Position Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety, welfare, and preservation of rights of clients. Interactions with clients, staff, and visitors should always be with respect and dignity. Completes monitoring of client activities across all shifts to ensure client treatment plans and facility policies are followed
- Assist each client with opportunities to learn new skills throughout the day. this may include formalized training of skills as outlined in each client's (ISP) as well as incidental learning during the day
- Assists clients with completing daily living skills (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, toileting)
- Assist clients with transferring between equipment and repositioning as outlined in their positioning support plan
- Assists clients with cooking and preparation of meals and snacks
- Assists home management staff to ensure each client has enough clean and well-fitting clothing. ensures each client is dressed/groomed appropriately for the day/activity
- Assists in maintaining an attractive, well-furnished, safe, and sanitary living environment for the clients and staff
- Assist clients in participating in special occasions in the community, routine shopping, going out to eat, attending religious and/or recreational activities of their choosing, attending medical appointments, and other recreational activities
- Completes and maintains a wide variety of documentation throughout the day. All documentation should be maintained in a confidential manner
- Assists clients in on and off-ground employment and enrichment center activities
- Must be able to work a minimum of at least 7.5 hours per day with no restrictions and accept mandatory overtime assignments as required to meet facility needs

Position Requirements
Must:
- Have a Covid vaccination or exemption
- No prior experience required
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- be able to use body mechanics properly
- be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs
- have current TB screening
- be able to pass a criminal background check clear of felonies
