Controls Hardware Engineer
Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) provides integrated robotic and automation engineering technologies. AMT has grown from just a few individuals focused on the automotive market in 1989 to more than 120 technical professionals who execute robotics in automation applications across a diversity of industries. We’re in aerospace, alternative energy, food and beverage, rubber and plastics, material handling and pretty much anywhere automation is used. We have immediate openings for controls hardware engineers with industrial automation experience.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Provide hardware design as required for controls systems including:
- Power Distribution
- Magnetics
- I/O requirements
- Component selection and sizing, panel layouts and installation support
- Communication requirements
- Field wiring
- Fluid requirements (hydraulic, pneumatic, lube & water)
- Perform pre-approval checks on hardware
- Provide project related progress to Department Leader on status and needs
- Complete designs on-time that satisfy all project requirements as outlined by the Scope of Work
- Perform all field checks and verifications as required
- Attend project meetings as required
- Work with team to develop standard methods and designs for better efficiency and operation
- Perform Project Leader functions as required
- Review and evaluate scope of work and project objectives for jobs as assigned by Leader
- Assist with Manpower scheduling with Leader
- Provide leadership regarding design related tasks to project team as required
Expectations
- 20% Travel may be required to meet customer expectations and project requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years experience with industrial automation controls hw design
- Proficiency in the following:
- Hardware design-EPlan and or AutoCAD
- Ability to manage time and prioritize
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
