Job Description
Analog Devices Federal LLC is looking for an Assembly Process Development Engineering Technician to support the Prototype and Space Products manufacturing areas. This individual will work with the Process Development Engineers to support development and maintenance of processes and equipment used in the manufacture of complex microwave and millimeter wave electronics.
Working as a member of the Process Development Engineering Team, your role is to help facilitate the smooth transition of development projects into manufacturing by helping to develop and demonstrate manufacturable processes, including clear documentation and work methods to facilitate high quality products at release.
This is a hands-on position that requires broad understanding of the equipment and integrated module manufacturing processes. The process technician will work with Development Engineering personnel, fellow Technicians, and Prototype Assembly Specialists to follow project plans, execute material builds and evaluations, and collect of data for analysis. Manufacturing equipment support responsibilities will include set up, maintenance and troubleshooting of tools.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to processes and equipment that include:
- Hand assembly
- Automated and manual wedge and ball bonding (F&K, Hesse, manual bonders)
- Bond pull/shear testing and rework (Dage testers)
- Automated and manual die attach (Datacon)
- Die shear/stud pull testing
- Epoxy cure ovens
- Laser and seam sealing systems
- Environmental (ESS) testing
- Plasma and solvent cleaning technologies
The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of electronics construction, with a strong aptitude and interest in working with automated and manual assembly equipment as well as the communication skills required to work with Process and Design Engineering personnel.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
- 3-10 years' experience in electronics manufacturing process support.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, interpret equipment manuals and process documentation.
- General working knowledge of automated processing equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination for work under a microscope is necessary
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel), Minitab statistical software, and AutoCAD are a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Willingness to apply for a security clearance
