Requirements
Qualifications:
Must be self-managing, dependable and possesses the ability to work to production rates and deadlines.
Comfortable with operating stroke sanding equipment and various hand tools to polish materials. Have at least 2 years’ experience with stroke sanding and polishing stainless steel or similar materials.
Responsibilities:
- Polish Stainless Steel sheet metal parts using powered or air hand tools including stroke sanders, grinders, buff wheels and other tools needed to smooth and prepare metal surfaces to a required finish.
- Set up and operate all machines in the department. Maintain a safe working environment by conducting inspections on equipment; following instructions on work order; and examining completed product.
- Repetitive hand and wrist movement - Standing, bending, crouching, and stooping lifting 25-50 lbs.
- Inspect parts for quality finish. Must be detail and quality oriented - Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
- Cleaning fabricated steamers made from stainless steel after the welding process is complete.
- Work in an efficient and timely manner and with minimum supervision.
- Communication - ability to understand, and follow instructions and work orders from the Supervisor and co-workers.
- Work Ethic – ability to stay on task within defined work hours in order to achieve production efficiency and quality goals. Flexibility – ability to adapt to constant change in order to meet customer requirements.
- Process required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedure.
- All positions are cross functional; may assist in other manufacturing areas that management deems necessary.
- Understand the PLEX system: control panel of loading, recording production, scrap and unloading containers.
