What are the responsibilities and job description for the Expediter position at Ancra Aircraft?
Key Responsibilities and Priorities:
- Track, monitor, and expedite parts and materials through Receiving, Quality, Machining, and Outside Processing stages.
- Coordinate the flow of parts between internal departments and external vendors to minimize delays and prevent production bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate records of parts status, location, and due dates using ERP and Excel tracking tools.
- Create and manage purchase orders for outside processing services, ensuring compliance with company procedures and aerospace standards.
- Communicate daily with outside processors to confirm schedules, expedite urgent orders, and resolve issues proactively.
- Prepare, package, and ship parts to and from outside processors in accordance with quality and handling requirements.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure timely material flow and support production schedules.
- Maintain an organized inventory of parts in staging areas and outside processing queues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to lead time, material handling, and vendor performance.
- Perform urgent deliveries or pickups to and from local suppliers or outside processors when needed to support production deadlines.
- Comply with all company policies, including safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace production environment, preferred.
- Experience working with outside processing vendors (e.g., anodizing, plating, heat treatment) highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic ERP navigation.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move parts and boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day).
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent coordination between departments.
