Courthouse Security

Andrews County Sheriff’s Office is seeking professional, dedicated individuals who are interested in a position is law enforcement, specifically as a Courthouse Security Deputy working minimum of 40 hours per week.

Job Description.

This position would be responsible for overall security in the Courthouse, Courtrooms, and Courthouse Annex and other buildings under the purview of the Sheriff.

Courthouse Deputy will make walkthroughs in and around the courthouse monitoring and investigating any suspicious activity to provide safety to Courthouse staff and citizens.

Courthouse Deputy may also be required to assist with transportation of prisoners as needed.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Texas Peace Officer license through TCOLE and hold a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Prior law enforcement experience, or military experience is preferred.

The Sheriff’s Office provides service to our community 24 hours a day 7 days a week, all sworn employees must be able to work any and all shifts assigned.

Selection process includes: Review of application by Sheriff and Chief Deputy, personal interview, an intensive background investigation that includes in-person background interviews, Physical abilities testing, medical physical examination to include drug screening, and a psychological evaluation.
