Production Planner
Location: Sarasota, FL
Summary of Functions:
The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing all production scheduling, capacity analysis, work order creation, and production status reporting:
- Using SAP-Schedule, print, distribute, and track all production jobs to meet customer and business needs.
- Analyze capacity bottlenecks in the production system and propose solutions.
- Report daily on the status of production.
- Interface with operations personnel, purchasing, forecasting, customer service, quality, and sales department to ensure production goals are met.
- Work within with the Parcus Medical Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable regulations/standards.
- Seek ways to continuously improve the operations of the organization.
Reporting: This position reports to the Senior Manager, Operations
Major Duties and Responsibilities/Authority:
- Review and understand all associated training instructions deemed appropriate for position.
- Overseeing all production scheduling, working with operations personnel, purchasing, forecasting, and sales to ensure timely production of product to meet business needs.
- Using SAP to schedule release, prepare, and print work orders.
- Provide work order status reports to management.
- Expedite work orders as needed.
- Direct operations in reallocating resources to provide required capacity to meet production goals.
- Participate in the Management Review Board (MRB), assisting in resolving nonconformances.
- Interface and support regulatory affairs as required to help ensure production processes and facilities are in accordance with FDA, ISO, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Assist in the timely resolution of safety and quality issues raised by customers or staff
- Support Parcus Medical Quality System and Safety and Health Program by following procedures and advising others.Physical Requirements:
- The employee might be frequently required to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch in accordance with job duties
- The employee must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
- Must have good vision and communication skills.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understand Materials Requirements Planning, CPIM preferred.
- Experience with SAP PP or equivalent ERP system.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a production planner.
- Knowledge of discrete manufacturing in a regulated industry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Detailed oriented, pro-active, and self-motivated.
