The Animal AM-Emergency Clinic of Pasadena (AAECP) is a busy 24-hour Emergency and Day Practice Veterinary Clinic. We are seeking aVeterinary Receptionist to join our team.
- Opening #1: Day clinic and Emergency clinic reception: Full time hours. Two days Day shift, availability during the hours of 7a-7p. Two days Swing shift, availability during the hours of 2p-12a, weekdays and weekends.
- Opening # 2 : Part-time hours- 3 days a week. Days, nights, weekdays and weekends
*Must be able to work holidays.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The receptionist is the client’s first contact when calling or visiting the practice and as such represents the professional image of the practice to callers and visitors. The receptionist answers multiple line telephones, greets clients, prepares patient files and escorts clients and patients to exam rooms, receives and relays client correspondence, and updates client financial records.
AAECP is an extremely busy practice, so any applicant must have exceptional multi-tasking skills and be able to juggle phones (up to 10 lines), check-ins, check-outs, & client communication while keeping a calm cheerful attitude even under stressful conditions.
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service background
- Excellent typing skills
- Familiar with PULSE practice management software desirable but not required
- Some computer knowledge required; comfortable with Word, keyboarding, and use of communication tools such as text and email
- Must be able to multi-task well in an extremely busy environment (Example - checking in/out patients and managing answering 6 phone lines at the same time.)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Significant experience with basic office functions in a busy office environment
- Previous veterinary practice receptionist experience, minimum 2 years
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be standing for long periods of time.
May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
