What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Animal HealthCare Center?
We are looking for an experienced, friendly, energetic, self motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician for our small animal practice in beautiful West Lake Worth/Wellington area. The part time position is for Saturdays 8am-4pm and 1-2 closing shifts during the week.
*Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
*Requirements:
- Experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting
- Knowledge of pet care, animal physiology, and veterinary medicine
- Proficiency in animal restraint and handling techniques
- Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
