Advanced Practice Provider (APRN / PA)

The role is one of collaboration and partnership within an interprofessional team. APP assumes the responsibility and accountability for the preparation, stabilization, and optimization of the ANR patient under the supervision of a physician. APP is expected to participate in evidence-based clinical practice, clinical research, and ongoing education. We value our staff, ensure they are well compensated, and work in a great environment.
Education / Training
Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program
Maintains current Florida license (ARNP, APRN, PA), ACLS
Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
Experience
12 months APRN / PA or 36 months acute care hospital RN experience required.
Based on area of assignment, specialty courses and specialty experience may be required.
Essential Functions
Assists physicians with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with opioid use disorder and co-morbidities
Integrates patient and family education throughout the delivery of care.
Provides safe and effective patient care under the direction of the physician.
Assists the Provider in hospitalization and follow-up management of post-hospitalized patients
Maintains accurate, legible clinical documentation within the medical records assuring compliance with all guidelines.
Comprehensively screens patients for care opportunities and collaborates with treating physician and / or APRN to develop plans that meet patients’ needs and result in appropriate quality care
Assesses the data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements
Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients.
Documents in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards.
Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers. Functions as a patient and family advocate.
Demonstrates caring practices by providing a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and patients’ rights and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Collaborates with management team to identify professional development needs.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Flexible and willing to handle extended hours and on-call responsibilities (evenings, weekends, and holidays) if need arises in the department. If on-call, most of the calls can be addressed from remotely.
