Job Purpose/Overview
The Strategic Account Manager applies the corporate growth sales strategies and develops the tactics for a team of Strategic Account Representatives who help clients to improve utilization of Antech’s full suite of diagnostic offerings (Reference Lab (RL), In-house Diagnostics (IHD) and Imaging) as well as those of the broader Mars Science and Diagnostics (SDx) portfolio. The Strategic Account Manager will employ an advanced consultative and strategic sales approach to existing highly integrated, national, and regional customers in the veterinary business segment, and will prospect new accounts. This role promotes and delivers targeted RL, IHD and Imaging services, technology, and professional service solutions to retain existing customers, increase customer use, and win new strategic account business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to develop organic opportunities with existing customers and develop new business relationships with emerging customers.
Active pursuit of qualified and prioritized new business opportunities - with a focus on key identified sectors – and transfer of these opportunities to the appropriate associates while supporting the closing of new business through reviewing presentations, participation in the sales pitch and providing knowledge transfer.
Ongoing interface with Antech Diagnostics, Antech Imaging Services, SDx, Sound, and corporate customers, including strategic planning and ongoing opportunities.
Ongoing monitoring of the current market landscape for new business development-related opportunities and challenges, with the transfer of relevant information to appropriate Antech Diagnostics, Antech Imaging, and Sound associates.
Excellent leadership abilities aligned to the Mars Leadership Capabilities and Associate Concept.
Demonstrates true curiosity about associate needs and obstacles to create a safe place to brainstorm and determine potential solutions with associate input.
Collaborate with Strategic Account Representative to identify opportunities, create targeted campaigns to grow market share, and expand new business wins.
Appropriate business-related travel as needed (50%)
Coordination of proposal process, including document templates, standard text, quality assurance, and document management.
Management of Antech Diagnostics, Imagine and Sound presence and representation at select industry events.
The Strategic Account Director will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required occasionally.
Work with internal functional teams by attending zone and regional meetings to facilitate the understanding of national account opportunities for growth and standardization of offerings by the field team.
Education and Experience
Minimum 8 years’ experience in animal health sales, pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or biotechnology experience.
Minimum of 3 years of sales management with a proven track record of success preferred.
University Degree in Science or Management, post-graduate degree an asset.
Proven ability to network and develop new business relationships.
Proven track record with corporate veterinary practice groups, channel management or equivalent
2 or more years of experience professionally facilitating conversations and presentations to various stakeholders in large, medium, and small audiences.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry

Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.

Appropriate business-related travel as needed estimated at about 50%.
Working Conditions
The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office or virtual environment. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment or a remote home office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, video conferencing and the Internet. The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Environment where pets are present.
The Target Pay Range for this position is $121,700 - $152,100 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
