Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager drives our business forward, promoting and selling our products and services. Main duties include scheduling sales meetings, meeting with clients, responding to customer questions, ensuring estimates and orders are processed on time. The BDM works closely with the VP of Sales and estimating team while cultivating and managing customer relationships. This role is for someone that is resourceful, inquisitive, self-motivated, possesses strong organizational / interpersonal skills and is capable of handling high work volumes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients by providing customized service, rapidly addressing client needs, and offering solutions.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and establish relationships with potential clients in Anton established markets and identify new markets to enter.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and objectives.
- Work cohesively with Estimating Department to ensure client centric quotes are submitted for opportunities.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the company, competitors, industry standards and trends.
- Vetting opportunities to ensure they are the right fit for Anton.
- Work closely with the design, engineering, and installation teams to ensure client expectations are met.
- Regular travel within the assigned territory to meet clients on-site and attend networking events or trade shows.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong customer service orientation and building skills.
- Previous experience in client relations and negotiation.
- Minimum of 6 years of sales experience in the commercial construction materials industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Previous business development experience in commercial architectural millwork or high end residential construction.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital estimating software.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
- Proficiency in Innergy.
- Sales experience in millwork or cabinetry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Essential Duties & Requirements
This position requires the ability to multi-task and tolerate changes in priorities. The ability to use hands to operate office equipment, such as a computer and a telephone is also required. The ability to think creatively, read, see, talk, and hear are necessary. The ability to research, evaluate and recommend alternatives is required. The ability to stand, sit, stoop and move from location to location is required. The person in this position may be required to sit at a computer terminal for long periods. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
