Position Summary:

Any Baby Can is seeking an experienced Respite Coordinator within the Comprehensive Advocacy and Resources for Empowerment (CARE) program. The Respite Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing respite events and individual respite for parents of children with special healthcare needs. This role also involves organizing home or community-based respite opportunities and developing and delivering educational workshops for parents on various topics, including transition to adulthood, mental health, and emergency preparedness. This position will also provide case management support to the Comprehensive Advocacy and Resources for Empowerment (CARE) team as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate respite events to provide parents with a break from caregiving responsibilities.
  • Serve as program’s respite point of contact. This includes conducting community outreach on respite services and events, processing incoming referrals, helping respond to new referrals questions about program eligibility, and assisting with community resources when needed.
  • Collaborate with local organizations and volunteers to ensure successful respite events.
  • Maintain event schedules, budgets, and participant records.
  • Identify and match qualified respite providers with families in need of home or community-based respite care.
  • Develop and organize educational workshops and information sessions on topics such as transition to adulthood, mental health, emergency preparedness, navigating SSI and Medicaid applications, etc.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, materials, and resources for workshops.
  • Gather feedback and continuously improve workshop content and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of families' respite needs and progress.
  • Offer guidance and referrals to other support services and resources available in the community.

  • Provides support to program leadership with the development, implementation, and monitoring of program special projects and initiatives.
  • Responsible for processing expenses and respite invoices and submitting all financial documents to finance on a timely matter.
  • Promote and utilize effective communication and problem-solving techniques, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and process development.
  • Other assignments may be added as needed or required.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field and one year of experience working with families or children with special healthcare needs. Experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience of project management, planning, coordinating, or executing family event workshops.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills are essential for this role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of local resources and services for families with special healthcare needs is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding Personal Health Information (PHI), required.

 

Special Considerations:

  • This position requires periodic availability outside normal working hours to attend and facilitate program-related events and activities.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel within the 8-county service region (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Burnet, Blanco, and Bell); if driving own vehicle, must have valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work more than 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary to fulfill daily duties assigned.

Salary : $44,000 - $46,000
