The ideal candidate will have experience working on diesel trucks, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery. You must be comfortable working independently, diagnosing complex mechanical issues, and completing repairs efficiently. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be interacting directly with customers — explaining diagnoses, answering questions, and ensuring they understand the work being performed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel equipment in the field
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers on-site
- Accurately explain problems, proposed repairs, and answer customer questions
- Operate independently with good time management and organization
- Complete accurate documentation of work performed and parts used
- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and tool inventory
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and diagnostics
- Ability to troubleshoot and think critically under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; CDL preferred but not required
- Must provide your own tools; some specialty tools provided
- Must be a HDT certified mechanic through the State of Michigan
