Duties
- Assist the Gym Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and facility maintenance
- Support staff training and development to ensure excellent customer service and adherence to safety protocols
- Manage member relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and promoting membership programs
- Supervise front desk operations including cashiering, POS transactions, and membership sign-ups
- Monitor inventory levels of gym supplies and equipment; coordinate purchasing and maintenance as needed
- Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping, and financial record-keeping to ensure accurate financial management
- Lead shift management duties, including supervising staff performance, enforcing policies, and ensuring a safe environment
Skills
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience in supervising teams within a retail or fitness setting
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with members, staff, and vendors in multiple languages (multilingual/bilingual preferred)
- Proficiency in managing inventory control, POS systems, cash handling, and retail math
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and marketing strategies to enhance member engagement
- Experience in employee orientation, training & development programs to foster team growth
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and store management
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in stock management and retail sales operations
- Demonstrated ability in managing shift schedules efficiently while ensuring high levels of customer service
- Knowledge of wireless sales or fitness equipment is a plus; familiarity with store management software is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and conflict resolution to maintain a welcoming environment
