Description
Utilizes jockey trucks to position loaded and empty tankers for loading/ unloading of finished goods and incoming raw materials . Weighs out loaded tankers for shipment using the certified truck scale. Performs minor Preventive Maintenance on jockey trucks such as check for proper tire inflation and oil and water level in vehicles. Sometimes procures samples from containers for testing prior to shipment. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current CDL, Class A with tanker and Hazmat endorsement. Note: The CDL, Class A with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement is not required when moving tankers on private property.
Onsite/Off site Shuttling
- Plans the tank wagon spotting schedule on each shift according to production needs as determined by the ship date on the logistic report or schedule. The HD is also required to respond in a timely manner to urgent requests by : Operators, Shift Supervisors, BLDG #4s request and BLDG#5s requests. Not necessarily in that order, but by, most urgent need.
- Operates the Jockey Truck to spot tank wagons for loading/ unloading of resins and raw materials.
- May assist shipping and receiving personnel on occasion in the process of staging empty drums and totes on pallets for packaging.
- Properly drains and dispositions empty wagons and containers.
Jockey Truck Maintenance
- Determines if tractor equipment problems exist, performs troubleshooting and, if required, notifies appropriate personnel that repairs are required. Procures samples of materials (in-process and finished products, etc. as required)
- Inspects tankers prior loading and shipment as required by procedure.
Safety
- Participates in all EH&S, 5S, and quality programs within the facility.
- Completes records and reports.
- Perform Site Safety Tours when required.

- Operates forklift as required if trained and certified by AOC.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Shift Supervisor, Backup Foreman, Production Supervisor, Production Leader or Plant Manager when trained or qualified to do so.
- Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Secondary School grad/Grade 12 equivalency Professional Certification
- Requires CDL, Class A with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements Experience
- 0-1 years total relevant experience
Salary : $44,900 - $56,900
