Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our property management activities. This position requires a strong understanding of property management, customer service, and administrative functions. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the management team to ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and assist in maintaining high occupancy rates through effective leasing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the property, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations.
- Support leasing efforts by conducting property tours, upselling features, and negotiating lease agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions, applications, and contracts using property management software.
- Handle customer service inquiries and resolve conflicts effectively to ensure tenant satisfaction.
- Oversee property maintenance requests and coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct data entry tasks, filing, and other administrative duties to support office operations.
- Assist in implementing marketing strategies to attract new tenants and retain current residents.
- Maintain knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 guidelines as they pertain to property management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with LIHTC, Section 8 programs, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on relationship management.
- Excellent conflict management abilities and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using property management software.
- Solid office experience including data entry, filing, and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
