What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant position at Apex Spine & Neurosurgery LLC?
We are looking for a Physician Assistant to work in busy Neurosurgical practice to diagnose and treat health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As a Physician Assistant, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The responsibilities includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and imaging and overseeing patients’ health. This position requires working in both the clinic and at the hospitals where we are credentialed. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills, and communication ability are important.
Experience in a surgical specialty will be a plus however, we are willing to train someone willing to learn, is a team player and has the right attitude.
This position will also require being on-call for the practice patients in the hospital and weekend rounds. Call is taken at home and PAs do not come into the hospital at night.
The position also requires assisting in surgery.
Applicant must be willing to travel between clinic and hospital locations in North East Atlanta
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
- Diagnose neurosurgical conditions and illnesses
- Propose treatments for brain and spine conditions
- Prescribe appropriate medications
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members
- Advance professional knowledge
