Established Arkansas based law firm seeking a Legal Assistant for their Jonesboro office. Looking for a "go getter" to hit the ground running. Prior legal experience NOT required! Will to train the right candidate!
Job Duties:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and enhance office effectiveness
- Type legal documents and correspondence with attention to grammar, spelling, and formatting.
- Prepare the first drafts of memos, letters, and reports
- File pleadings and motions with the courts
- Greet clients, answer and direct phone calls
- Monitor and meet deadlines
- Organize files
- Monitor calendars and follow through with all related tasks
Required Skills
- At least one year of professional office experience and/or higher education
- Ability to compose simple memos, business style letters, fax cover sheets, and emails
- Knowledge of Microsoft software to include Word, basic Excel, Outlook and OneDrive
- WordPerfect and document management software experience a plus
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, while working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to proofread a variety of documents and pay attention to detail
- Ability to establish good rapport with attorneys, clients, experts and other employees
- Ability to work independently in a quiet environment without a lot of public interaction
- Prior Legal/Litigation experience a plus
