As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will actively identify potential customers in the grocery, pharmacy, or hardware retail segment, specifically targeting the US markets. Your role will involve generating new business opportunities, effectively managing leads through the sales pipeline, and delivering engaging technical presentations and solutions to both existing and prospective customers to drive business success. Close collaboration with the sales and marketing teams will be crucial in achieving our company’s sales goals.

We are seeking an individual based out of North or South Carolina, United States, who is highly self-motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities

  • Identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities for the company, targeting retail verticals, such as hardware, pharmacy, pet food, grocery, gas station, convenience, and/or;
  • Identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities for the company, targeting ethnic grocery stores such as Middle-Eastern, South Asian, or East Asia grocery segments.
  • Prospect, contact, and qualify potential customers.
  • Set appointments and follow up on leads.
  • Track progress towards meeting sales goals.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies for reaching sales targets.
  • Use customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage leads and sales activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, competition, and industry developments.
  • Attend networking events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities and results to management.
  • Engage with customers and prospective customers as a member of the sales team to provide technical consulting as a subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for learning the customer process/business and becoming the local expert to assist in the integration of the solution.
  • Conduct discovery calls (pre-sales) and, at times, post-sales questions via email, conference calls, chat, etc.
  • Assist in preparation activities, budgeting, and responding to customer specifications.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, product demos, proposals, and quotations.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to understand customer requirements.
  • Create and/or contribute to content used for internal or external purposes.
  • Assist in researching and developing new products as well as conveying customer requirements to the product/engineering teams.

Requirements and skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Speaking Arabic, Indian, or Mandarin, is a bonus.
  • A post-secondary engineering degree in systems, mechanical, math, electrical, physics, software, or equivalent. A Master’s degree is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a business-to-business/enterprise software or technical sales environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience with embedded systems or electronic hardware solutions is an asset.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive and creatively problem-solve in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet demanding timelines.
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software, e.g. Pipedrive, workflow automation, e.g. Zapier, and other productivity tools, including LLMs, e.g. Chatgpt
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

  • Ensure professional, courteous, and cooperative relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Establish a work environment in which trust and respect are highly valued

  • Fully remote with occasional time spent on the road
