Job Title: House Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations; Operations Manager

Part - time

House Managers are instrumental in creating a positive and welcoming environment for audiences, volunteers, and artists. Through exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail, and effective management of various operational tasks, they ensure that each theatergoer has a memorable and safe experience from the moment they enter the venue to the final curtain call.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Open and close facility; ensure facility is safe, operational, and presentable.
  • Oversee volunteer activities for each event
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons
  • Proactively address customer concerns, complaints, and conflicts in a professional and courteous manner, aiming to find satisfactory resolutions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth operations during events
  • Uphold policies and procedures, including those related to ticketing, seating and customer interactions
  • Alternate serving as House Manager and Bartender during events

Education and Experience

A High School Diploma is required. Some experience in the customer service industry, preferably in the performing arts and/or restaurant/bar, is also required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance. The employee is often required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Excellent hearing is essential.

Additional requirements:

Available to work a flexible schedule that will frequently include holidays, weekend and evening or late night hours; including four weekend and four weeknight shifts per month.

  • Able to report to work in any weather

The activity level varies daily depending on a wide variety of circumstance many of which are out of the control of the employer or employee.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be quite noisy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Weekends as needed
