Applause Music Academy is hiring Art Teachers for our Glendora, and Rancho Cucamonga, CA school.
There are two age groups for the Art Classes 5-8 yrs and 9-12yrs
Job Description
- Teaching responsibilities include beginning to intermediate courses in several levels of art. Areas of teaching specialization should include drawing, watercolors, pastels, sketching, collage composition, and art history.
- Other duties include art direction for at least two art shows annually and participation in quarterly faculty viewings. You must love children and have patience.
- Maintaining a classroom that is neat and organized, with clean supplies and materials.
Reliable, positive, and organized work ethics. Can teach a class of up to 6 students independently. Patient with children. Strong technical ability with materials such as soft pastel, watercolor, and acrylics.
The art teacher will be responsible for developing student's technical skills and their passion for art.
Qualifications:
- Reliable, positive, and organized work ethics. Can teach a class of up to 6 students independently. Strong technical ability with materials such as soft pastel, watercolor, and acrylics.
- The art teacher will be responsible for developing student's technical skills and their passion for art.
- The successful candidate should hold an AA, BA, BFA, or MFA degree in Art. An alternative is at least five years experience teaching art. Candidates should possess a significant body of work or experience that suggests a wide-ranging and well-developed craft within the visual arts from a variety of genres. A successful track record of working with children is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children is required.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to work well with children and others in a collaborative team environment.
