What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Therapist position at Applewood Centers?
Position Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Licensed Residential Therapist to provide direct clinical service to individuals, families and groups. Services may include individual therapy, family interventions and group therapy as well as mental health consultation, education and prevention services. The therapist provides services within the framework of the mission and service plan of Applewood Centers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitates group psychotherapy and day treatment programming based on client and program needs.
- Treatment planning in accordance with client needs.
- Assistance with crisis intervention and problem resolution.
- Timely completion of daily progress notes and other required documentation.
- Reporting and documenting of all special incidents.
- Transportation of clients to and from the program in agency provided vehicles.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Valid Ohio Clinical License in Social Work or Counseling is required.
- Knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment planning, child psychotherapy, group therapy and DSM-IV diagnoses.
- Prior experience in the delivery of mental health services to children in groups with complex needs is essential.
