Applied Materials is seeking a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belt to lead enterprise-wide improvement initiatives across a globally matrixed and cross functional business. Key areas of focus may include driving improvements to maximize customer value with our innovation, product development and process development processes. Key Responsibilities Lead projects within and across global business to optimize performance across value streams by reducing waste to maximize customer value. Help develop and foster a culture of LSS throughout the organization by applying critical problem solving using LSS methodology. Understand data trends and drive quantified results by using analytical methods and systems. Facilitate groups through process mapping, root cause analysis, brainstorming, business impact assessments, gap analysis and project planning. Train, mentor, and coach champions, Black Belts and Green Belts in the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects with expected client results. Guides project selection and scope to assure linkage between business and customer priorities. Employ project management skills related to overall project tracking, deliverables management, action item tracking, meeting minutes, team communications, and presentations; keep stakeholders apprised of project status and defined deliverables. Change management champion across all levels of the organization. Captures and records Best Known Methods (BKM) for dissemination across business. Functional Knowledge Direct experience with demonstrated success and financial results leading complex projects. Technical mastery of Six Sigma tools and methodologies including DMAIC, DFSS, Lean/CI. Effective change agent able to implement strategic initiatives in a global organization. Possess effective project management skills and ability to influence at all levels of an organization. Business Expertise Utilize benchmarking to identify best practices, both internal and external to the organization. Aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to key executives. Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends product, process or service improvements. Leadership Ability to lead and influence others within a matrix organization. Leads projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution. Manages project risk and resource requirements. Ability to effectively coach and mentor champions, process owners and Black Belts. Resolves obstacles/roadblocks, serves as a sounding board for problem resolution. Problem Solving Solves complex problems with broad impact on the business. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Drives innovative thinking to develop solutions. Impact Impacts a range of customer, operational or service activities and works within guidelines and policies. Impacts the direction and resource allocation for projects. Interpersonal Skills Explains difficult or sensitive information in an easy-to-understand manner; works to build consensus. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Adept at observing, assessing and helping team members recognize areas for development. Develops strong rapport with those they mentor. Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view. Education Bachelor's Degree required (Business/Engineering). Master’s Degree preferred. Additional Qualifications Master Black Belt certification required. Years of Experience 10 Years professional experience required. 5 Years of Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement experience required. Semiconductor industry experience preferred. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree Skills Certifications: Master Black Belt - Any Languages: Years of Experience: 10 - 15 Years Work Experience: Additional Information Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time Relocation Eligible: Yes U.S. Salary Range: $132,000.00 - $181,500.00 The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
