What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at Applied Research Solutions?
Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to support our customer at the Air Force Research Laboratory located at Wright-Patterson AFB. The Systems Administrator will provide support the cloud-based development environment of a state-of-the-art sensor exploitation solutions for the defense and intelligence community. The Systems Administrator will be a part of a dynamic team working multiple programs for multiple defense and intelligence community end-customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with platform end users to resolve issues in a virtualized desktop environment
- Construct, test and install Salt Stack packages, utilize Salt to manage the VDI for both Windows and Linux
- Manage system remote access utilizing both Citrix and Guacamole
- Participate in projects that add new features or improve existing capabilities
- Construct Microsoft Windows and Linux virtual machine images that meet STIG requirements
- Participate as a key member of the DevSecOps / Cloud Services team; and
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen
- 5 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and Linux system administration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
- Experience with Citrix
- Systems Management such as Salt, Ansible, Intune, or other tools
- Experience with Azure and other cloud platforms
- Security certification or other DODD 8570 IAM Level II Certification required
- Utilization of critical thinking and innovation skills
- Must be able to work as part of a small, fast-moving team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
