We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic educator to join our ARHS Life Skills team. This educator will work as a liaison to inclusion students in our PLP (Personalized Learning Program). PLP students are grades 9-11 inclusion students with IEP goals addressed by specialized instruction in English and Math in a co-taught model.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY is a LOVE of teaching and learning, believing every child can learn,
be collaborative, bring joy and kindness to school each day.
1.Responsible for chairing annual IEP meetings.
2.Responsible for writing and revising IEPs.
3.Serve as liaison for a caseload of Special Education students.
4.Responsible for effective management of the classroom environment.
5.Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
6.Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.
7.Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, implementing specific strategies for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
8. Responsible for the creation and implementation of differentiated curricula encompassing core content areas and life skills.
9. Responsible for management of paraprofessional resources in the classroom.
10. Knowledge and experience with MCAS Alternate Assessments
11. Responsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness
12. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Required certification in Massachusetts DESE license in Moderate Disabilities
2.SEI Endorsement
3.BA Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Teaching experience, high school preferred
2.Demonstrated experience supporting students with special education needs
3.Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment.
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services and School Principal
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators’ Association contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
