Project Manager – Fiber Construction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale fiber construction initiatives across the state. This long-term role supports one of the fastest-growing and most strategically important infrastructure programs within the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong project management fundamentals, exceptional organization, and the ability to proactively drive progress across multiple teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end execution of fiber construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, coordination, and project closeout.
• Oversee currently active two 30-mile fiber builds, with additional projects scheduled to begin in the coming months.
• Coordinate workflow among internal engineering, construction partners, and external engineering vendors.
• Track, maintain, and report on project budgets, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Utilize project management tools such as SmartSheet for scheduling, data tracking, and reporting.
• Ensure effective communication among stakeholders while identifying risks and proactively mitigating issues.
• Support adherence to workflow processes, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years of project management experience, preferably supporting construction, fiber, telecommunications, or utility-related work.
• Strong understanding of workflow management, vendor coordination, and project execution in a fast-moving environment.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and high-volume project data.
• High-level organization and time management skills.
• Proactive mindset—ability to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and drive next steps without prompting.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction experience (fiber construction strongly preferred).
• Utility experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with SmartSheet or other enterprise PM platforms.
• Experience with data analytics, project inputs, and data maintenance.
• Project management or industry certifications (PMP, CSM, fiber/telecom certifications) are a plus.

Education:

• Degree not required; but would be preferred
