Description
Essential Functions
Greets patients and other visitors arriving for appointments.
Responsible for checking in patients: (enter demographics, insurances, and authorizations).
Collects all copayments/balances up front.
Responsible to call PCPs to obtain referrals and/or authorizations if required by new insurance.
Obtains new providers information to add to NextGen.
Obtains, verifies, and enters patient information into EMR. Ensures the accuracy of all entries.
Responsible to scan paperwork to EMR.
Collect Copayments for Self-Pay Patients or any pending copayments to be collected.
Responsible to scan all supporting documentation into the patient’s chart.
Completes end of day closing duties
Responsible to answer the Operator's phone line, directing telephone calls to proper extensions/departments, and taking messages as required.
Cross-training in the front desk duties.
Travel to the South offices to cover when needed.
Requirements
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
High School Diploma
1-2 years of Customer Service experience
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle and diffuse patient complaints and disagreements
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Experience navigating Electronic Medical Records and Outlook
Bilingual English/Spanish
Traveling is required within the South Region locations (Coral Gables, Miami, Flagler, Kendall & Cutler Bay)
