Position Title: Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist

Reports To: PSR Program Manager / Clinical Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday

Purpose of the Position:

The PSR Specialist is responsible for delivering person-centered, recovery-oriented services that promote independent living skills, socialization, and increased community integration for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities. This position supports individuals in developing the functional skills necessary to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct group and individual PSR sessions that promote development of daily living skills, coping mechanisms, and interpersonal skills.

• Assist participants in setting and working toward individualized treatment goals.

• Provide services in accordance with each participant’s individualized support plan or treatment plan.

• Collaborate with the treatment team (including case managers, therapists, and other direct support staff) to ensure continuity of care.

• Document all services provided accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Medicaid, APD, and agency standards.

• Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to service planning and progress reviews.

• Support clients in accessing community resources and building natural supports.

• Promote independence, dignity, and respect for all program participants.

• Monitor and report behavioral changes, incidents, and progress to the PSR Manager.

• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.

• Follow all agency policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional ethics guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities.

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Valid Florida Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

• Successful completion of Level 2 background screening.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and engage in physical activities as needed to assist clients.

• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in crisis situations.
