What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner 1 position at ARCH?
Summary:
Individual is responsible to develop plans that will help to ensure customer delivery commitments are met and production schedules optimize the use of available resources. These plans include but are not limited to, material input, shop schedule, supplier services and requesting the appropriate resources from the manufacturing group. The individual must have a strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Excellent communications at all levels with the customers, the supply base and internal departments are paramount for success in this position. This is a "hands-on" position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist scheduling activities by maintaining accuracy of Reports for each of the production work centers and production support functions.
- Participate in coordination of the company's production plans and strategies with Production, Engineering, Materials, and Quality departments.
- Communicates all plans and changes to appropriate members of the production team.
- Participates in Contract Review, MRB & Production Meetings.
- Responsible for assisting in the generation of, and updates to detailed, controlled Work Instructions for all planning activities.
- Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Arch Medical Solutions-Memphis Quality System procedures.
- Back up packaging and shipping as needed during peak times.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and take an active role in follow through of Production Support improvement activities.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbal.
- Broad knowledge of machine processes and the use of manufacturing travelers.
- Ability to communicate, organize and plan department resources.
- Strong knowledge of shop floor and inventory control databases.
- Ability to create and maintain efficient production schedules.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency with MS Office and the internet.
