Nurse Manager
Description:
Assumes responsibility as primary nurse or charge nurse
Performs functions of management
Supervises and coordinates unit activities for ages neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients/residents
Develops operational and capital budget for the unit and monitors/adjusts to meet established goals
Provides leadership in the Performance Improvement Program
Must use holistic approach to nursing care
Must demonstrate outstanding leadership ability
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Must possess the ability to learn basic computer
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
Must demonstrate competency in basic nursing skills
Must possess the ability to learn basic computer skills
Good physical and mental health
Must be able to lift, bend, pull and push, using good body mechanics, without limitations
Must possess visual acuity with corrective lenses to read printed material and visualize patients to the degree that changes in color or respiration can be detected; hearing ability with auditory aids to understand the normal speaking voice without viewing the speaker and auscultation of the chest using a stethoscope; and speaking ability to ask and answer pertinent questions and relay information
Must demonstrate the ability to wear properly fitting respiratory protective mask for periods of time without limitations
Able to work under supervision or independently as directed by the situation
Must be able to work under stressful conditions
Responsible for continuous operations of the department/departments
Education/Experience:
Graduate of a school of Professional Nursing
Licensed in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
3-5 years experience as staff nurse
Prefer 1 year experience as Assistant Nurse Manager
