Job Description:
Repairs and maintains all production equipment and facility, but not limited to:
- Choppers
- Fillers
- Ovens
- Emulsifiers
- Kettles
- Pumps
- Performs regular inspections of machinery & equipment.
- Performs improvements to building structures and fixtures.
- Conducts minor repairs to electrical systems and plumbing.
- Repairs and maintains all HVAC systems.
- Repairs and maintains boiler system.
- Interprets manuals and diagnostic drawings.
- Calibrates equipment.
- Reports problems with physical equipment or maintenance tasks that may impact on safe quality food to immediate supervisor and Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
- Completes paperwork as required.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
- Current certifications for HVAC, refrigerant handling, welding, building maintenance, technology or relevant field will be a plus.
- Understanding of hydraulic, plumbing and electrical systems. Aptitude for repair.
- Basic knowledge of food safety hazards and contamination/cross contamination prevention.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, write, complete forms, and prepare reports. Good communication ability and ability to complete Purchase Orders and Work Orders.
- Trade or vocational school graduate preferred.
- Manual dexterity and strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Desire for personal improvement, ability to get along with fellow employees.
- Excellent Attendance is expected and flexibility to work off hours may be required.
- Experience with SMS and SPCC recordkeeping a plus.
